The 16th International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications to Business, Engineering and Science (DCABES 2017) will be held on October 13~16, 2017 in the very ancient Chinese capital city in Shang dynasty. All papers accepted by DCABES Proceedings have been peer reviewed by more than two experts and carefully modified. Since DCABES 2001, the first DCABES, each DCABES symposium has invited some world famous professors and experts in computer science and technology area to give keynote speeches for the conference. Sixteen years passed and dozens VIPs in distributed parallel processing have attended the DCABES conferences, among them there are Professor Jifeng HE, a member of Academia Sinica, Professor Albert Y. Zomaya, the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Computers and Associate Editor-in-Chief  of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems，Professor C.-H. LAI,  Editor-in-Chief of  JACT (Journal of Algorithms and Computational Technology), Academia Sinica Professor Zhiwei XU, Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Computer Research and Development, Professor Frédéric Magoulès, Centrale Supélec, Université Paris Saclay, France, Professor Craig Douglas, distinguished professor in MGNET, et al.

From DCABES 2010, Proceedings of the DCABES has been published by the Conference Publishing Services (CPS), and be sent to the EI and CPCI (ISTP) for index by the CPS.

The EI and CPCI (ISTP) have regularly indexed proceedings of the DCABES. The EI Compendex indexed JACT international journal will select part of papers from DCABES 2017 proceedings and ask authors to extend and modify them as journal papers to be republished in JACT special issues.

The rapid development towards increased integration of software with the social and physical world that we see today means that quality aspects such as performance, safety, security, and robustness become more important in an increasing number of the systems and devices, which we use and depend on. In this context, the success of a software product may not only depend on the logical correctness of its functions, but also on the system quality characteristics. Such system characteristics, which are referred to and captured as Extra-Functional Properties (EFPs) or Non-Functional Properties, are particularly important in resource constrained systems such as in the domains of real-time embedded and cyber-physical systems. Therefore, such systems need to be tested with a special attention to the EFPs. Testing EFPs is challenging and often requires different approaches compared to testing normal functionality. ITEQS provides a focused forum with the goal of bringing together researchers and practitioners to share ideas, identify challenges, propose solutions and techniques, and in general expand the state of the art in testing EFPs and quality characteristics of software systems and services. The workshop endorses contributions in a wide range of topics related to testing of EFPs in the form of full papers and short yet solid work-in-progress/position papers.

The GraVisMa conferences have roots in the WSCG conferences (http://www.wscg.eu) held since 1992 in Plzen, Czech Republic every year, with special sessions oriented to Computer Graphics, Visualization and Computer Vision and Applied Mathematics.

Due to the growing demand in interdisciplinary aspects of Computer Graphics, Visualization and Computer Vision with Mathematics (applied and pure, it was decided to initiate GraVisMa conferences as independent conferences. Recently held conferences were in 2009 in Plzen and 2010 in Brno, Czech Republic.
