中文摘要: 本项目以著名的江南历史城市南京、杭州、扬州、苏州的10例古典园林为研究对象,以园林活水与城市水系交叉为切入点,探讨江南古典园林的形成、水体形态特色、水体活态的维持及其审美和功能,与城市发展、自然地理、水工技术、社会生活的关联。此园林史和城市史的交叉研究,有利于弥补对于江南古典园林乃至中国古典园林成就认识的不足,更加贴近古人的创造智慧和整体规划与设计的思想,发掘江南古典园林中体现的对于自然与城市环境、观赏与生存生活相结合的一体眼光、实用思考和运作经验。精心选择的涵盖自然、私家、寺庙以及和皇家活动相关的园林类型,放在城市水系的平台进行共性研讨,有助于弘扬中国古典园林的创造精髓、探索科学原理、总结工程经验、提炼手法旨趣,也有助于今天保护江南古典园林遗产,促进园林与城市生态的可持续发展,引导现代园林的科学传承。此为重要的基础理论工作,也是契合时代生态、生活需求的前沿课题和应用研究。

英文摘要: This project will study the classical gardens in Jiangnan area from the interrelation views of garden water and its connected city water system. The research hopes to study by 10 garden cases in Jiangnan historical cities such as Nanjing, Hangzhou, Yangzhou and Suzhou and details their formations, the unique features of water, the techniques for the circulation of water and the functions included aesthetics in gardens, especially from the relationships between the garden water and the city's development, the geography, the technologies involved in mastering water and urban life. This interactive research aims to make up the lakes of the studies on the Jiangnan classical gardens, to press close to the ancient creative ideas of integral planning and design, to explore the practical experience and entire thinking about nature, urban environment, landscape and living. The selected cases cover natural gardens, private gardens, temples and loyal gardens. They are investigated in the framework of urban water system in order to rediscover the design spirit of classical gardens, and to explore the scientific rules, the project management knowledge and the methods in garden design. Besides, the research would benefit the protection of the heritage of Jiangnan classical gardens and the sustainable development of ecological gardens and urban, as well inspire the designing modern urban gardens. So this project is not only a important theoretical research but also a practical study in meeting for the today's needs of urban ecology and modern life.
