中文摘要: 石墨烯是二维相对论费米子系统,由于独特的电子结构和光电学性质,在基础科学、光电材料和器件领域拥有巨大的研究和应用价值。在前期利用半经典理论方法研究了石墨烯的线性光电特性的基础之上,本项目将从更精确的量子理论出发研究石墨烯的非线性光学特性。首先,我们将发展石墨烯的非线性光学理论模型,解释其奇异的光透射谱(石墨烯-碲镉汞系统光透射率大于100%,并且有明显振荡),并探讨利用石墨烯制作透明电极。其次,建立详细的理论模型,解决石墨烯在四波混频现象中非线性光学理论研究结果与实验研究结果相矛盾的难题。再次,利用石墨烯强的太赫兹非线性光学效应,从理论上构建石墨烯人造复合材料模型,期望首次预言并实现太赫兹区相对论的Townes型稳定的空间光孤子。最后,构建“光纤-石墨烯-光纤”系统,从理论上证明该系统可以更稳定的传输二维光孤子,建立新的光孤子系统,为石墨烯的研究和应用开辟新的方向。

英文摘要: Graphene, a two-dimensional one atom thick allotrope of carbon, holds the promise for building advanved nano-optoelectronic devices, due to its unique electronic structure and properties. Previously we have investigated the linear optoelectronic properties of graphene with semi-classical theory. In this research project, we will study nonlinear optical properties of graphene based on quantum theory. At first, we intend to develop a detailed theoretical model to explain nonlinear optical properties, especially unique transmission spectrum (>100%) recently observed in graphene system. Secondly, we will try to understand the confusing disagreement between present theoretical results and experimental findings from nonlinear optical measurements with four-wave mixing, which is belived scientifically very important. Thirdly, we will design an electrically tunable graphene-basied metamaterial with a large nonlinear optical response and expect that there exists a structure sustaining a novel type of stable two-dimensional spatial solitary wave, a relativistic version of the Townes soliton in the Terahertz regime. Finally, we intend to conceive a novel soliton system, fiber-graphene-fiber, to realize the temporal solitons in such new system.
