中文摘要: 太赫兹技术在天文学和生物高分辨率波谱分析等领域具有非常重要的应用前景。目前的太赫兹频谱分析系统频谱分辨率很低(>10GHz),不能满足高分辨率太赫兹波谱分析等应用领域的需求。基于非线性光学频率下转换方法的连续太赫兹辐射源具有单色窄线宽、可调谐、室温运转、相干性好等优点,是高分辨率光谱分析系统中理想的太赫兹辐射源,但受到差频晶体和泵浦方式的限制,目前的连续THz辐射源输出功率较低,调谐范围较窄。本项目针对上述太赫兹应用领域,提出了利用~ 2um 高功率窄线宽连续光纤激光器泵浦,基于外腔增强准相位匹配差频效应,以获得窄线宽、宽调谐、高功率的新型连续THz辐射源的技术研究方案。通过本项目的研究,可以实现宽调谐范围(0.5-5THz)、高效率、窄线宽(MHz)、输出平均功率大于mW量级的连续太赫兹输出。这将对促进太赫兹在生物高分辨率光谱分析及太赫兹通讯方面的应用具有重要意义。

英文摘要: THz technology has important applications in many fields, such as astronomy and biological spectrum analysis with high precision. Currently, the spectral resolution of THz spectrum analysis system is too low (>10GHz) for the applications in THz spectrum analysis with high precision. Photonic CW THz source can provide several advantages: monochromatic with narrow linewidth, tunable, operating at room temperature, and coherent, which is an ideal source in THz spectrum analysis system. However, the existing CW THz source has some limits (low output power and narrow tuning range), due to the lack of crystal with high nonlinearity and pump geometry with high efficiency. In this project, we propose a novel scheme to achieve CW THz source with narrow linewidth, wide tunability, high efficiency and high power, pumped by about 2 um CW fiber laser based on external cavity enhanced quasi phase-matched difference frequency generation. We will demonstrate a CW THz source with wide tuning range (0.5-5THz), high efficiency, narrow linewidth (MHz) and high average power (>1mW). This proposed new THz source is most promising to the applications of THz technology in fields of bio-medical spectroscopy and THz communications.
