中文摘要: 平流方案作为大气环流模式的重要组成部分,负责计算示踪物(如水汽、气溶胶等)的传输过程。这些示踪物会参与到模式其它部分的计算,如与云和降水相关的过程,因此模拟出合理的示踪物分布对大气模式的模拟性能具有重要影响。同时随着模式发展的需要,示踪物个数不断增加,平流方案的多示踪物计算效率问题日益突出,使其成为制约模式发展的关键问题之一。本项目将设计一种新的全拉格朗日平流方案,其主要特点为:1)离散方式为随体移动的微团质点;2)能够合理地保证示踪物的质量守恒;3)有效减小数值扩散误差。然后将其接入到大气模式GAMIL中,通过多种试验(单独动力框架和AMIP)来评估其模拟性能,分析其对模式其它方面带来的影响(如云和降水的模拟),同时还将检验其多示踪物的计算效率,为大气化学模式的加入提供必要的支持。

英文摘要: Advection scheme is the essential component of the atmospheric circulation model. It calculates the transportation of tracers (i.e., moisture, aerosols, etc.). These tracers will join in the computation of other parts of the model (i.e., cloud and precipitation related processes), so the faithfully simulated distribution of the tracers will influence the model performance significantly. At the same time, following the needs of the deepening model development, the number of tracers will increase tremendously, so the multi-tracer computation efficiency stands out day by day, and becomes one of the key problems. This project will design a new advection scheme in fully Lagrangian form. The major features are: 1) tracers are discretized as parcel centroids moving with flow; 2) the total tracer mass is conserved naturally; 3) the numerical diffusion error is decreased effectively. Then the new scheme will be applied to an atmospheric circulation model (e.g., GAMIL). Several experiments (single dynamical core, and AMIP) will be conducted to evaluate the performance of the new scheme, and analyse the impacts on other parts of GAMIL. Multiple tracers will be advected to gain the computation efficiency for supporting the incorporation of atmospheric chemical model.
