英文摘要： In this project, we will study the relationship between cohomological dimension and geometrical dimension of a CW complex using Quillen's plus construction. The D(2) problem is as follows: let X be a finite 3-dimensional CW complex of cohomological dimension 2. Is X always homotopy equivalent to a finite 2-dimensional CW complex? Such a problem has a close relationship with Eilbenberg-Ganea conjecture and Whitehead conjecture. We're planning to prove that more groups have such a property. We propose to give a reformulation of such a problem in terms of Quillen's plus construction.
